Dodgeville

We took a little adventure yesterday to Dodgeville so I could check out the Lands End Warehouse sale.  That was a big success for me!  Jesse took the kids to Governor Dodge State Park while I shopped, and they had a good time playing on the playground.  We also stopped at Don Q Inn on the ride home to check out the big boeing airplane on display.  We tried to stop at Tower Hill State Park, but Matthew had just fallen asleep, and we didn't want to wake him!  Another great day!

Max's Birthday

The birthday weekend started with the ball drop at Viking Village.  On Sunday, we had his party with friends, and he had a blast.  He got a suprise in the morning when he woke up and found a new playset for the backyard!  Our neighbors moved to CO, and gave it to us!  Max just got back today from a special time with Robin.  They took him to Walmart to find a gift, and then out for lunch.  He really enjoyed that time by himself, and they said he talked non-stop!

Olbrich Gardens

We had a lunch/errand day in Madison on Friday, and decided to stop at Olbrich gardens on the way home.  We took some fun pictures, and after the decision was made, I wished I would have dressed the kids myself that day, instead of letting them!  Oh well!  We had a great time, and even got poured on with rain!  After, we got our free custard from Michael's, yum!

Swimming

Last week, Madison had a birthday party at the beautiful Dutch Hollow Lake (see picture below).  Jesse and I took the other 3 swimming in La Valle.  We had such a great time together!  The girls also completed swim lessons.  Madison really became a strong swimmer this summer, especially for not getting in the water much.  Macy improved tremendously, and is feeling more comfortable in the water.  The last day they get to go off the diving board and slide in the deep end.  Madison had a blast, and Macy did well too...even though she stopped at the end of the slide to put her goggles on!  Too fun

Call me maybe

This post is in honor of the new hit song, "Call me maybe!"  Max also posed for a picture with his teachers on the last day of "his" tot lot!  He loved it!

Back to reality!

Max has been LOVING his new remote control car from Kirk and Katie, Lauren and Katelyn.  He has also been very good at sharing.  Matthew got a hold of his cereal bowl and made a nice big mess tonight!

Anniversary meal

Jesse and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary Saturday night at Bacchus, downtown Milwaukee.  We enjoyed a lovely meal and continued to the lakefront and took some fun pictures.  We also went to Alterra and then a movie.  It was so nice to spend an evening together, just the two of us.  Thanks to Mom and Dad for taking the kids, and Kirk and Katie for an awesome day!

Swimming/birthday

We met Kirk, Katie, Lauren, Katelyn, Bumpa and Nana, at Tripoli and enjoyed an afternoon of swimming and fun!  After our rests, we celebrated Max's birthday before they ventured to a carnival while Jesse and I went out to dinner.  Thanks so much to Mom and Dad, and Kirk and Katie, for such an amazing fun day!

Anniversary fun

Today Jesse and I celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary!  We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family, and such an amazing life together!  Someone on Facebook commented on our wedding picture and how I could still fit in my dress after 4 kids as a joke.  That gave me an idea to try it on!  I started with my prom dress and let Macy take the picture.  Then Jesse took some pictures of me in my wedding dress, and we let the girls try on the head pieces and then the dress.  The looks on their faces when I first walked out was priceless!  They also both want to wear my dress someday, which will save us some $ :)  The girls are leaving soon for a party, and Jesse and I are taking the boys to Ginza of Toyoko in the Dells to celebrate.  Tomorrow we'll be heading to Milwaukee and we will have a kid-free fancy dinner!  We are also taking two nights for ourselves in Door County in two weeks, and are so thankful my parents agreed to watch the kids!
