Pumpkin Parade

We came back from Milwaukee in time to trick or treat at the Reedsburg Area Life Center, where they pass out candy and books. We headed for downtown businesses to do the preschool pumpkin parade with the other HUNDREDS of people. Friday night we went out for dinner with some friends. Saturday we stopped by Viking Village for our free pictures (thank goodness they were free, because I would have never been able to pay money for them - the kids were HORRIBLE). We then went to the Valerian Day spa where they had more pictures, pumpkins to paint, coloring contest, and even a haunted house!!!!!! Max was so tired, he fell asleep before I even brought the girls out to the car. We also got "ghosted" by someone...how fun to find a surprise like cupcakes outside our door!!! I wonder who it was...

Family pics

After breakfast, we tried to take some family photos for my parents to use as their xmas card. Needless to say, my kids weren't very cooperative. Madison is finally at the age where she will pose, but Macy still cannot smile very nicely, and Max wanted me. So, hopefully between our two cameras and 100s of pics, they will find one they can use!

(This is the new sculpture in Shorewood by the Lakefront. The man is "thinking" with his knees up, and is made up of all letters )

Milw. visit

On Wednesday, I took the kids to Milwaukee. My sister, Julie, was in town for a convention, so we stopped by and swam with Bumpa, Katelyn, and Lauren. It was a very nice visit. I had just gotten my hair done, and had it straightened. Kirk didn't even recognize me! I stayed over night with Julie, and then on Thursday we took the kids bowling at i pic in the Bayshore Town Center. After winning at bunco with my Mom's group Thurs., we took the kids out for breakfast on Friday morning

before playing by Lake Michigan at the park. What a great time family bonding!!!

Swim lessons

Macy enjoyed her first session of swim lessons (however, wants to take a break). The pictures were funny because the camera was steaming up!

Birthday party and SCHCC

Last Sunday, I took Madison to the new Sauk County Health Care Center's safe halloween. We enjoyed trick or treating, having punch and cookies, and seeing all the costumes. My favorite was this farmer on a chicken...his legs were the chickens legs, and the farmer legs were pretend. It was hilarious!!!!

After that, we went home and waited for the other two to wake up and ventured off to our DINO-MITE birthday party. Our friend's son Casey turned 4, and they had a very fun dinosaur party. What a fun day!

Madison's First School Dance

Last night was Madison's first school Halloween Dance! She had some moves! When we first got there, some of her preschool friends were already there, and they seemed to like running around more than dancing. After it started getting more crowded, when the lights went down, they seemed to dance more. It was so much fun! I just wish that Macy, Max, and Daddy could've joined us (maybe next time she'll not throw a fit)! The dance was for Pre-K-8th grade, so there were lots of older kids there, too. Some with scary costumes...didn't upset her, though!

Go Badgers!

After our fun at the children's musuem and getting new phones, we ventured to Sauk for Jeremy's birthday party. They had their garage set up with the big screen tv...like a living room. It was perfect for watching the game, along with the little ones running around. Braden did such a nice job sharing his toys (just a little mess was left)! We all enjoyed the company, and what a great present, a BIG Badger win over Ohio State! We did forget Max's coat, so he had on Madison's for awhile...hilarious!!! It was so great to hang out with Joy, Jeremy, and Braden! We have to do it again sometime soon!

Madison's New Children's Musuem

We enjoyed the Madison's Brand new children musuem last Sat. Thanks Sabrina and Chad!!! The kids had a wonderful time exploring and checking out all the cool things they had to offer. It was neat just seeing all of the recycled things in there! Madison and I even tried the hamster wheel. It got going pretty fast, and she was a little unsure of it, but she still tried it! They enjoyed building and playing...I think the wood slide was their favorite. Sabrina told us about the dentist's chair. When you sit on it and look at the screen, if you open your mouth, animal sounds come out of it. It was pretty silly, and many people enjoyed watching. They even loved the door on the way out...there is one door that is kid sized. How cute! We will definitely enjoy another visit soon!

Nap time

Max had a rough week. He ran a fever from Tues.-Fri., and all because of teeth. He was very clingy, and just wanted to be held. One of the days, Robin said he just wouldn't go to sleep upstairs, and that he was napping on the floor with Ginger...I asked her to take a pic, isn't it cute? He is back to himself again. Max will probably be a monkey for Halloween, but the pumpkin is his back-up. He didn't care for the head piece that much!

Peck's

We enjoyed the beautiful fall weather at Peck's farm in Spring Green a couple of weekends ago. The kids had such a great time on the play equipment (look closely at the playhouse and you will see Max peeking out the window), the corn maze, the train ride, crazy horse rides, eating caramel apples, roller coaster races, and feeding the goats! We worked up such an appetite, we had to stop at the local drive-in diner for some burgers...yum! We love these family days!

Fire Station visit

The following Friday, I was able to leave work for a bit and meet Madison's class at the LaValle fire station. It was fire prevention week, and after hearing about "stop, drop, and roll" for the week, I was happy to see what they would present! They watched a quick video with Sparky, learned about smoke alarms and excape plans. We got to look at some fire trucks, and climb in some, too. The last thing was trying out a fire hose...I think Madison could have a future in fire fighting the way she was right on the target. They even let the adults try :)

Reedsburg Harvest Festival

Reedsburg has an annual Harvest Festival the first weekend in October. While Daddy was enjoying a round of golf on this beautiful autumn day, we went with Keely and Maya downtown. The girls enjoyed the GIANT blow-up climber with slide. I love the action shot of Macy's hair! We all went on a horse ride, too. The kids enjoyed the ride, and liked to look at the horses after we got back. What a fun morning! That was the same day that Mommy went and saw Wicked at the overture center. I loved it!

Madison's Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Jesse was able to take a half day, and go to Country Bumpkin pumpkin patch with Madison and her preschool class. They enjoyed a hay ride, picking corn (although she couldn't pick sweet corn like last year), and picking out pumpkins and gourds. Her favorite part of the trip was "finding a slug on the crazy gourd!" She was thrilled that Daddy got to go along!
