Macy's new trick

Sorry about the pics being dark and kind of blurry. Macy loves crawling in and out of the Rose Petal Cottage. She will crawl in and be laughing so hard on the way out, that she falls over! She really loves it when you say, "Where's Macy?" She comes busting out of the door laughing hysterically! She also enjoyed a shoulder ride the other day with Mommy! Macy is nearing 10 months old. At her nine month appt., she weighed 20 pounds and measured 29 inches long!!!! She loves playing with her big sister and follows her around everywhere. Jesse and I are enjoying our extra time with them this summer!

Bike

Madison has been very good with pottying for quite some time, but still wouldn't make it number two on the potty (she's too busy for that)! So, we cut a deal...big girls who go poopy ("make nuggets") on the toilet, get to ride their big girl bikes!!!! Today it worked! She wore underwear all day long and stayed dry! Let's hope that we can keep it up, and pick up some new big girl underwear! Here is a picture of her first bike ride! We did fix the helmet so it's not that loose!

Smith Mountain Lake, VA

We had such a wonderful time with Jesse's Aunt Christine in VA. What a beautiful place! It was such a needed get away, especially after all that has been going on back home. The girls did great on the flights, (except for one on the way home). We went to two memorials, the Smith Mountain Lake State Park beach, fed the fishes (they were crazy-just look at the picture), and visited with his Aunt. Madison did a great job swimming...it will be fun to see her in swim lessons later this summer. Here are just a few of the pictures from the trip. I hope everyone survived the high water and that this finds you well.

First bike ride

This was Macy's first bike ride on the trailer. She really enjoyed it, however, Madison's fear of wind made the ride a little unpleasant! She loved it last year, so we'll just have to keep trying!

Flood

I have never seen anything like this before. Half of our town is under water, and the same elementary school that made the news with the "opposite sex" dress-up day, is now a red cross shelter. The teachers were supposed to have school until Weds. of this week, but that was all cancelled...we can't get to our school anyways. It will be a very long and difficult recovery, as many of Westside's families and other schools were damaged severely. Here are just a couple of pictures. The walking bridge by our house that we use everyday was broken in two. I'm sure many of you have seen the clip of the house being swept away in Lake Delton...I guess it could be worse.

Saturday fun

We had a very fun time on Saturday, in between all the bad weather. First we were in Cottage Grove by my cousin Sabrina's house. Her baby Ethan (one day younger than Macy) got baptized that evening, and I'm the Godmother. The babies had fun playing in the pool, and he did a nice job at church (unlike Madison). From there, we went to Brianna's second birthday party (she is Jesse's God-daughter). Although we got there late, we had SO much fun playing and catching up with everyone. We hit a bad storm on the drive back, but made it safely.

Weekend fun

We had another fun weekend with family and friends. Friday night we headed over to the Great Wolf Lodge where Jesse's cousins were spending the night. Jodi, James, and their son, Drew, along with Eric, Tracy, and 4 out of their 5 kids were staying for the night. We joined them for supper in the hotel room, and it didn't take long for the kids to get really wild! They were having so much fun running around together! Here's a picture of some of them jumping on the bed...those monkeys! There was also a picture of Macy laying down after she finally gave in to slumber. We didn't leave there until 9:00, so we were all pretty run down! On Saturday, Jesse's Mom and brother, Tyler, came to watch the girls. We went on a Brewer bus trip and were gone the whole day. Grandma and Uncle "Ty-Ty" took such good care of the girls...they had so much fun! They were able to spend the night and hang out with us until lunch the next day, too. Here's a nice picture of the four of them. Notice the pig tails that Grandma got into Madison's hair...she kept them in until nap time! She looked so cute. She also did really well for Grandma and Ty-Ty on the potty! Such a big girl! The count down begins for the end of school. Wish us luck!
