Last day of our break

At the last minute, we decided to make a trip to Madison! We had a few little errands to run anyways, so treated the kids to the Children's Museum. We stopped for lunch and the kids loved their "crazy cookie," half sugar/half choc. chip. The museum is always a hit, and even Matthew got to explore a little! The craziest thing was the picture Jesse took of Macy with the magnifying glass...anyone who knew me growing up, would say that was me with brown eyes! We even got a little goofy with the poses at the pizza parlor, and pretended to give Daddy some spankings with the paddle! Ironically, that is the last picture our camera took as it is broken :( He took a bad fall on our Friday adventure, and decided to stop today. At last it was a memorable one!

Saturday Fun

After shopping and resting while Daddy got to golf on Saturday, we went to a family cookout. The kids enjoyed playing with some old and new friends, and us parents got to enjoy ourselves, too! We also had bath night, and Max learned a new trick with his cup...to breathe in enough and make the cup "fart!" He was so proud of himself, and he even got Matthew laughing while he was in the tub! Too cute!

Circus World Museum

After naps on Friday, we decided to take the kids for a special "adventure!" They didn't know where we were going...and they loved the surprise! We went to the Circus World Museum in Baraboo and saw the circus (Matthew even enjoyed watching), the minature horse Lucky Star (the kids loved to pet him, and he could even do math), we saw lots of exhibits of old circus things, and even got to dress up! Max kept his vest on for quite some time, and it was a little hard to talk him out of it! The kids had a great time, and so did Mommy and Daddy!

Matthew - 2 months

Matthew had his 2 month check-up this morning. He is looking really good! He weighs 10 pounds, 5 ounces, and is 22 1/2 inches long! Although Max was 10'3" and 22 in. at birth, Matthew is somehow at the 96% for height and 92% for weight! The doctor said he has great head control and is doing well! Matthew just wants to be old enough to play with his siblings who have such a fun time! He has been much more alert lately, sleeping really well at night, and enjoys a good conversation that he can smile and coo back to!

Carr Valley Cheese

We decided to go on an adventure Monday morning and took the kids to Carr Valley Cheese! They watched a video about making cheese, and were able to watch through the glass doors to see real cheese curds being made! The best part, of course, were the samples at the end of our visit! And, upon Madison's request, we bought 2 bags of curds because in her words, "One bag goes too fast!" By the way, the cranes were on the right side of the road on our drive out and we slowed down to show the kids. They were on the other side on our way back, so we stopped and took a picture!

Mommy's Birthday

We were able to spend a couple of nights in Milwaukee on my birthday. We spent all day Sunday with Bumpa and Nana and Kirk and Katie and their girls having a wonderful visit. I just love how nice they all play together :) On my birthday, we headed to the Milwaukee Public Musuem and had a blast. The kids really enjoyed the place and were surprisingly well-behaved! I believe the favorite part was the butterfly exhibit. Madison was really good at catching them and Macy/Max enjoyed trying to catch them! While Max was busy looking at one, a butterfly landed right on his bottom! We purposely put one by Matthew in his car seat, and another one landed right on his car seat! I even had one on my bracelet! We stopped at Stir Crazy in Brookfield on the way home, and enjoyed my birthday lunch at a restuarant we had never tried before :) What a wonderful birthday!

Random August Pics

We have had such a great month! Although we have missed Daddy on some days due to coaching golf, we have been able to have lots of family fun :) These are just some random pics from the month...Madison loves to read, and even enjoys reading to Matthew! Matthew really is a "cool dude" but I'm not so sure about the crown the girls put on his head! Everyone thought the novelty of a new baby would wear off, and as the picture of Max holding Matthew shows, it hasn't at all! All three love to sing to, talk to, and hold baby Matthew! I hope that love continues when he can get into their stuff! The kids and I were able to meet Aunt Julie in the Dells for a quick lunch before her work meeting and had a nice visit. When we are not out to eat, the girls have been "helping" us cook! Here is Madison teaching Macy how to make a PB and J sandwich! I will miss the summer months dearly :(

Daddy Daughter Weekend 2011

Daddy Daughter Weekend 2011 (click on link to see a video Jesse made)
I had my annual family girls' weekend, while Jesse had his father/daughter weekend. While I was enjoying myself at White Potato Lake, Daddy and Joe were having a blast with the kids. They went to the PBS open house in Madison and ate at Ellis' Deli on Friday. Saturday they went to the Home Depot workshop and the ball drop at Viking Village. Besides playing nicely and having fun, they also slept in the princess tent downstairs! The Daddy's enjoyed less stress than a real camping weekend, and the kids loved every minute of it. The house was even clean when I came home!

End of July pics

What an amazing month! We went shopping with the other Madison at Tanger, and celebrated Emma's birthday on her new water slide (although our kids didn't participate...the water was too cold)! The girls have been going to vacation bible school this week and loving it (it is a safari theme) and Matthew is 6 weeks old
today! We cannot believe that it is already August, but know that we have many more fun things coming our way!

Max's 2nd Birthday

Max had a wonderful birthday last Friday. We went to the Henry Vilas zoo in Madison with friends, ate at Quaker Steak and Lube, ice cream sundaes at Sonic and ran some other errands before heading back home. Max loved singing Happy Birthday to himself and was even heard singing it after we put him to bed! Go figure that one of our best family pics is at a Sonic after eating ice cream!
