Easter Sunday in IL

The kids enjoyed hunting for their baskets when they woke up Easter Sunday. The bunny gave them many outdoor things, not any candy this year! After a bit, we headed down to Aunt Judy's in IL. They had a very fun egg hunt and then a basket scavenger hunt for the kids. Let me tell you, there were some VERY well hidden eggs. We enjoyed some wonderful family time with Jesse's cousins and their children. They all played so well together! After some yummy food and more visiting, we headed home to get ready for the school/work week again. Daddy played with the kids outside with some of their new toys to try to wear them out from all the driving. What a fantastic spring break together!

Dying Easter eggs

On Saturday, we enjoyed a visit from Grandma Simonson, Kylie, and Uncle Duke. We enjoyed some yummy food, and even got to dye Easter Eggs! How fun!

Spring Break to Mishicot

We spent an evening at the Fox Hills Resort in Mishicot over spring break. We headed out after Madison's eye appointment (she got glasses) and stopped in Fond du Lac at Schreiner's restaurant, where I have gone many times with my family as a child. We continued on to Great-Grandpa and Grandma Deffke's house where they served the kids the infamous ice cream cones. After we arrived, we made some dinner and checked out the place. We enjoyed a few hours of swimming that evening. The boys started by lounging and watching everyone else, but soon we had all four swimming and enjoying themselves! The next morning, after some fun tubbing in the condo, we set off for an adventure around Mishicot. We found a big castle playground, and a dam with a neat covered bridge above! We then drove down to Manitowoc, enjoyed looking at the lake, and then the zoo before we headed back home to go for a fish fry with friends. The kids really enjoyed the adventure as we didn't tell them what we were doing or where we were going before we got there!

Funny Bunny

Matthew has been so funny lately. He pulled a Max the other day and fell asleep in the highchair, mid chew of a cracker! He also was kind enough to keep bunny ears on long enough for me to take some pictures of him. Our wonderful sitter, Robin, stopped over the break and dropped off Easter baskets for the kids. They said it was the best surprise!

More family fun and learning

Madison was excited to try rollerskating for the first time. She did pretty well, but I stayed very close! Our house is on such a big hill, it makes me sooooo nervous :) Madison has said that she would like to be a teacher when she grows up. She is definitely getting good practice with the other 3 siblings. She enjoys reading to them, doing flashcards of words for Macy, getting a round of zingo going (Matthew really wanted to be a part of that), and enjoying projects she has done at school!

Reedsburg Beaver's Basketball Game

Jesse and I were able to take the boys to the Reedsburg Beavers girls basketball game at the Kohl Center. My Uncle Randy was able to get us tickets in the box, which was very nice with the kids. We didn't realize we'd have the whole box to ourselves! The boys enjoyed watching Super Why on the tv in the box, and also loved the action in the seats. Although the girls lost, it was an amazing day. We are so proud of the girls and their season! Max LOVED being the little beaver at the game, and got lots of attention! :)

Picnics on the decks and family walks

This Wisconsin weather has been unbelievable! I kept thinking that it was only going to be a day or two, and it surprised us for weeks! We are definitely enjoying it, as we don't know if it is truly here to stay! The kids have loved eating outside on the deck again. We have also started up our family walks again, and have been making it down to our favorite spot...the bridge to throw grass over into the river. Jesse took out the baby backpack and Matthew enjoyed it so much, he ended up asleep in it! We are in for so much fun this summer, we all cannot wait!!!!!
