Miniture prom queen

Madison was voted miniture prom queen from the junior prom committee. Her and Kaden looked so cute and did such a nice job together! They had practice at 9 on Friday night, and then had to be there around the same time on Saturday night, waiting for the grand march, and their part around 11:00! Even though it was very late, they did so nice. Lots of big smiles! Thanks so much for Tara, Kaden's Mom, for doing Madison's hair and make-up. Bumpa and Nana even came along to watch, and Uncle Duke was able to stay at the house with the other kids so we could all go! What a memorable evening!

Glasses and family dance

Madison got her glasses on Tuesday afternoon. She looks so much older and smart with them on! She really needed them, and kept saying things like, "I can see the birds I'm hearing, and I want to travel the earth so I can see everything!" Makes me wonder how long she needed them! Westside hosted a family dance on Friday night, so we enjoyed the fun time together!

Easter Sunday in IL

The kids enjoyed hunting for their baskets when they woke up Easter Sunday. The bunny gave them many outdoor things, not any candy this year! After a bit, we headed down to Aunt Judy's in IL. They had a very fun egg hunt and then a basket scavenger hunt for the kids. Let me tell you, there were some VERY well hidden eggs. We enjoyed some wonderful family time with Jesse's cousins and their children. They all played so well together! After some yummy food and more visiting, we headed home to get ready for the school/work week again. Daddy played with the kids outside with some of their new toys to try to wear them out from all the driving. What a fantastic spring break together!

Dying Easter eggs

On Saturday, we enjoyed a visit from Grandma Simonson, Kylie, and Uncle Duke. We enjoyed some yummy food, and even got to dye Easter Eggs! How fun!

Spring Break to Mishicot

We spent an evening at the Fox Hills Resort in Mishicot over spring break. We headed out after Madison's eye appointment (she got glasses) and stopped in Fond du Lac at Schreiner's restaurant, where I have gone many times with my family as a child. We continued on to Great-Grandpa and Grandma Deffke's house where they served the kids the infamous ice cream cones. After we arrived, we made some dinner and checked out the place. We enjoyed a few hours of swimming that evening. The boys started by lounging and watching everyone else, but soon we had all four swimming and enjoying themselves! The next morning, after some fun tubbing in the condo, we set off for an adventure around Mishicot. We found a big castle playground, and a dam with a neat covered bridge above! We then drove down to Manitowoc, enjoyed looking at the lake, and then the zoo before we headed back home to go for a fish fry with friends. The kids really enjoyed the adventure as we didn't tell them what we were doing or where we were going before we got there!

Funny Bunny

Matthew has been so funny lately. He pulled a Max the other day and fell asleep in the highchair, mid chew of a cracker! He also was kind enough to keep bunny ears on long enough for me to take some pictures of him. Our wonderful sitter, Robin, stopped over the break and dropped off Easter baskets for the kids. They said it was the best surprise!

More family fun and learning

Madison was excited to try rollerskating for the first time. She did pretty well, but I stayed very close! Our house is on such a big hill, it makes me sooooo nervous :) Madison has said that she would like to be a teacher when she grows up. She is definitely getting good practice with the other 3 siblings. She enjoys reading to them, doing flashcards of words for Macy, getting a round of zingo going (Matthew really wanted to be a part of that), and enjoying projects she has done at school!
